Art Groups for Women

These longer sessions offer time to slow down, create, and connect through process-based art.

Each session begins with a gentle mindfulness or guided meditation to help participants arrive and settle into the space. This is followed by a longer period of individual art-making, where everyone works on their own pieces while creating side by side.

We use a wide range of materials, such as:

  • Paint, drawing, and mixed media

  • Collage and intuitive mark-making

  • Clay and sculptural processes

Prompts are open-ended and optional, encouraging exploration, experimentation, and personal expression without pressure to produce a polished outcome.

Sessions conclude with a voluntary group discussion or reflection. Most weeks, participants will leave with a completed or in-progress artwork to take home.

Art Groups for Carers

Caring for others can be deeply meaningful — and incredibly demanding.

Create to Connect offers group art sessions designed especially for carers who need time to pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.

These sessions provide a calm, welcoming space where carers can make art alongside others who understand the realities of caring. You’ll work on your own individual artwork, side by side with the group, with no pressure to talk, perform, or explain yourself.

Art-making offers a way to slow the nervous system, process thoughts and feelings, and feel grounded again — often without needing the right words. Some people come to chat and connect, others come for quiet focus. Both are equally welcome.

This is time set aside just for you.

What these groups offer

  • A supportive space to create alongside other carers

  • Gentle guidance and freedom to work at your own pace

  • No experience required — just curiosity

  • Opportunities for connection, with no expectation to share

  • A chance to step out of “carer mode” and into something that’s just yours

Create to Connect groups are about making art, taking a breath, and finding connection in a way that feels natural and manageable.

If you’re caring for someone and looking for a space that understands, this may be the pause you’ve been needing.
