Home & Distance Learners

Weekly Visual Art Sessions
Mondays 10am–12pm
Term 4 begins Monday 12 October
$30 per session | Flexible week-to-week booking

Our Home & Distance Learners group is a relaxed, welcoming weekly art session for young people who learn outside a traditional school setting.

This isn’t a typical art class where everyone follows the same steps to make the same finished piece. Instead, sessions are process-focused and open-ended, giving participants the chance to explore materials, experiment with ideas and create in their own way.

Each week we work with a variety of materials and processes including painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, clay, textiles, construction and sculpture. We might begin with a simple creative prompt or grounding activity before moving into our main art-making for the day.

The group is intentionally kept small, allowing me to support different learning styles, interests and needs while still giving participants plenty of independence. There’s also time to chat, work alongside others and build connections naturally — without pressure to participate or socialise in a particular way.

As a VIT registered art teacher with over 20 years' experience and a background in art therapy, I aim to create a space that feels calm, flexible and supportive.

Bookings are flexible and made week by week, so there’s no need to commit to a full term. Come every week, come when it suits, or book around other learning and family commitments.

No art experience is needed and all materials are included.
