We asked our families what they'd like to see from our school holiday program and we listened.
This September, we're trying something a little different.
Across three days, we'll be running six separate 2-hour art workshops, giving kids and families the freedom to create a holiday program that works for them.
Come along for just one workshop, choose a few favourites across the week, or stay for both workshops on the same day.
Kids staying for both sessions are welcome to bring their lunch and stay with us during the 30-minute break.

MONDAY 21 SEPTEMBER
Draw & Paint
10am–12pm | Still Life Studio
Forget the boring bowl of fruit.
We'll create interesting still-life arrangements and explore different ways of drawing what we see.
Kids will experiment with line, shape, texture and composition using a range of drawing materials such as graphite, charcoal, fineliner and ink.
We'll start with some fun, loose drawing exercises before slowing things down and creating a more developed piece.
This is a great workshop for kids who already love to draw, as well as those wanting to develop their skills and try something a little more challenging.
12:30–2:30pm | Watercolour Studio
An afternoon dedicated to painting and the beautiful, unpredictable world of watercolour.
We'll experiment with colour mixing, washes, layering, mark making and different watercolour techniques before creating a finished artwork.
Kids who joined us for the morning workshop may choose to take inspiration from their still-life drawings, while those coming just for the afternoon can jump straight in with a completely new artwork.
TUESDAY 22 SEPTEMBER
Stitch & Create
10am–12pm | Sew Your Own Bag
Make something you can actually use.
Kids will choose their fabrics and create their own simple bag while learning basic hand-sewing and construction skills.
We'll embrace colourful threads, visible stitching and individual design rather than worrying about making everything perfectly neat.
A sewing machine will also be on hand to help with construction and strengthening where needed.
No sewing experience is necessary.
12:30–2:30pm | Make It Yours — Textile Art
This is where we take something useful and make it completely unique.
We'll explore different ways of decorating and altering textiles using techniques and materials such as embroidery, appliqué, patches, beads, buttons, fabric drawing and more.
Kids who have spent the morning with us can continue working on the bag they've made.
Coming just for the afternoon? No problem! We'll provide something ready to customise so this workshop works perfectly on its own too.
THURSDAY 24 SEPTEMBER
Sculpt & Build
10am–12pm | Clay Studio
Squish it, roll it, build it, sculpt it.
We'll explore clay through hand-building, joining, texture and form before kids develop their own sculptural piece.
There'll be ideas and demonstrations to get everyone started, but as always, there's no expectation that everyone creates the same thing.
We'll provide the materials, techniques and support — then see where their ideas take them.
12:30–2:30pm | Cardboard Sculpture
Part art, part construction and part problem-solving.
Using cardboard, split pins, paint, drawing materials and plenty of maker-space supplies, kids will design and build their own freestanding sculpture.
They might create a person, animal, creature, robot or something we've never seen before — and we'll explore how articulated joints can be used to create moving parts.
Kids will experiment with shape, balance, construction and simple mechanisms as they transform ordinary cardboard into something pretty extraordinary.
Perfect for builders, inventors, artists and kids who just really love making stuff.
